A psychological assessment is completed on every individual who comes to CAST. The assessment process provides information that is critical in developing an individualized treatment plan. A primary therapist is assigned based on the specific needs of the individual. Weekly therapy sessions address the underlying issues around the recovery of addiction or the goal of psychological wellness in a safe and trusting environment
Group therapy/counseling consists of both learning and processing. CAST has a variety of groups designed to meet the needs of individuals. Self-expression is encouraged through the use of expressive arts including music, film, art, yoga, meditation, psychodrama, psycho-education and spirituality. Processing occurs when on or more members of the group talk about issues that arise in group. The group dynamic offers a safe place to experience peer support and relationship building, and offers an opportunity for self-examination of one’s beliefs and the world around us. These dynamics provide a very powerful environment for change.
