Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Narcissistic Personality Disorder includes individuals who display external manifestations of self-importance that are in conflict with internal feelings of inferiority. An individual diagnosed with this disorder may experience the world in a manner that is out of touch with reality: presenting as though he or she has unlimited power, idyllic love, intelligence, etc. This disorder is characterized by oversensitivity to constructive criticism, preoccupation with self, need for attention, and a capacity for rage and indifference.
When a client arrives at CAST, he or she is assigned a therapist who performs a complete initial evaluation. If a previous diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder has been made, this will be carefully examined. The clinical team meets to discuss each individual who arrives at CAST and the entire team is involved in creating a comprehensive treatment plan.
At CAST we strongly believe that an individual is more than a disorder, thus not every individual with the same disorder will have the same treatment plan. With a clinical team comprised of empathetic and skilled PhD's, MFT's, Psychiatrists, Physicians, and Psychologists, we determine treatment plans taking into account the most relevant research, techniques, and combined experience of the clinical team. We understand treatment is a process, and at CAST our goal is to create a healing environment that both challenges and supports in order to foster growth.
