CAST’s clinical director and medical director evaluate each incoming client to determine the best course for his/her recovery plan. The entire CAST staff meets to discuss the incoming client’s needs and as a team puts together the program structure and pairs appropriate professionals when necessary. This is the assessment procedure that CAST follows for each client.

The duration of the CAST program ranges from 3 months through 5 years of structure and supervision. The CAST program includes;

・ weekly groups facilitated by one of CAST’s licensed professionals
・ regular meetings with CAST case manager
・ random alcohol and drug testing
・ recovery coaching
・ relapse prevention plan
・ establishing a recovery meeting schedule
・ medication management
・ monthly progress notes to family, therapist and court representative

Professional Progam

The CAST professional program is geared specifically for individuals struggling with addiction issues who have managed to maintain their professional status. CAST staff provides guidance and case management for such clients who are dealing with issues related to their professional institutions. Clients in the CAST professional program receive assistance in dealing with overseeing authorities in various professions such as, medical boards, bar associations and other supervising organizations. CAST has a dedicated weekly group for its professional program clients so issues related to the workplace can be addressed with a licensed facilitator. Experiences are shared in these groups and clients have the opportunity to discuss with one another their common struggles and find common solutions.

Alternative Sentencing Program

CAST’s alternative sentencing program offers several services for individuals with legal issues. CAST staff has experience dealing with the justice system at all stages of the legal process. CAST clients have the benefit of an advocate to accompany them to court appearances, probation hearings, and other court mandated appointments. The CAST program has long standing relationships with reputable attorney’s to best facilitate recovery programs over incarceration. Our goal is to help client’s stay accountable and responsible, and to provide structure and monitoring in order for our clients to achieve long-term recovery.

Family Education

Our ground breaking family component sets up apart from other programs. Research has shown that individuals who have family participating in their own parallel recovery increases the chances that the addict or alcoholic will stay sober two to three times. We also believe family participation is critical. For that reason we provide similar support, education, counseling and therapy for family members who wish to participate. Participants learn the following:

・ Al-Anon and 12 step support provided
・ How to effectively communicate concerns
・ How to identify relapse behavior in themselves and their loved one
・ Understanding co-dependency and the difference between love and enabling

Recovery Companion

The recovery companion is someone that accompanies and monitors a client depending on the individual’s level of need. Recovery companions are available for 24-hour care, and level and duration of monitoring can be adjusted based on the client’s need and progress.
