The state of New Hampshire is known for its beautiful autumn foliage, shades of yellow, red and orange light up the once green trees in a dazzling tapestry of color. On a darker note New Hampshire has a tremendous drug abuse and addiction problem especially with opiates, specifically heroin. Heroin, as well as other opiates, are a major dilemma in our society and have been for quite some time now. Drug abuse is not a recent development, it has been around for as long as humans have been around, in recent times it has become a problem due to the fact that humans now live in largely populated areas as apposed to small scattered settlements. But for the first time in history we have developed a way to combat drug abuse and addiction, today we have treatment centers and outpatient drug rehab programs as well as many other resources to deal with addiction.
